GEEK!

So I decided today that it is finally time I admitted it to myself. It is time that I embrace who I am and what it is that I, supposably at least, stand for. I, my friends, am a GEEK!
I have been denying from a very early age. You see I have always liked things like reading, and math, and science, and reasoning, but I never told anyone that. In High School, I was in band, and was co-captain of the debate team my Junior and Senior years. I was in advanced math, and was the one kids copied their homework off of. I was even in the honors English classes. Yet I still would not submit to the monaker of GEEK or NERD.
You see, my high school was small and therefore I was close with the cool kids who were in the band. The jocks were also in my Calculus class, and therefore that could not be a place to find the geeky. The preppiest guy in my class was in English with me, NOT A GEEK! Oh, and that debate thing, we were GOOD (DAMN GOOD) so that doesn't count either.
Then I got to college, and I was told that I would be just like everyone else. RIGHT! But I bought it anyway, so for the next 5 years I lived my life in secrecy, even though I did geeky things like set on class panels, and facilitate discussions on things which are of interest to the national scene.
Today, on my way to work, I realized what all of this means, and I am here to throw my closet doors open and proclaim that I AM A GEEK! I realized this while discussing, with myself, that I LOVE LAW SCHOOL! It is soooooo much FUN! Then I pondered the things I have been told to expect from the rest of my life. I will write more than most published authors. I will read more than many bibliophiles. And the English language will be my trade. I can see Jim shuddering at the thought now. :)
